There once was a little monkey, who spent all his time rocking back and forth on his feet, smiling, and peering out into the distance with a wide-eyed look of wonder. The other monkeys never tried playing with him, for they knew that he was the monkey that could go anywhere. If they did something he did not like, they would be sent anywhere and maybe never come back.
Sometimes, the monkey would pop up on a beach, rocking back and forth on his feet with his toes between the sand, smiling, while watching the waves crash on the shore and see people wearing funny swimsuits.
The beachgoers would go up to the little monkey and ask, “Hello little monkey, where did you come from?”
The monkey broke his gaze on the beach, looked up at the people, smiled, and vanished in the blink of an eye.
“Oh my god!” The people shouted. “Did anyone see that? Where did it go?”
But the people would never know, for he was the monkey, and he could go anywhere.
Some days, the monkey would pop up on a boardwalk, placing himself in the center of a long line of people looking for snacks like ice cream and cotton candy. The people gasped, “Where did this monkey come from?”
The monkey would not move. He just stood on the wooden planks of the boardwalk, rocking back and forth on his feet, smiling.
“Excuse me, little monkey, what are you doing here.”
The monkey broke his gaze on the colorful candy, looked up at the people, and vanished.
“Oh my god,” the people screamed. “What just happened? Wasn’t there a monkey just here?”
But the people would never know, for he was the monkey, and he could go anywhere.
Sometimes, the monkey would appear inside someone’s house. He would place himself directly in the center of the living room, facing a large flatscreen TV. His eyes were fixed on the flashing colors and strange sounds of people fighting and flying around.
“Good gracious, there’s a monkey in the living room,” a husband shouted, spilling his drink over the couch.
“A monkey,” a wife said from another room. “Preposterous, this place isn’t that messy.”
“Nah sweetie, there’s a real live monkey in the living room. And he’s watchin’ TV!”
Children raced downstairs in awe of seeing a monkey in their home. They make little monkey sounds to communicate with him, but the monkey does not notice them. He continued watching TV, rocking back and forth on his feet, smiling.
Before the children could get a photo of the monkey, he vanished.
“What?!” the husband exclaimed.
“Aw boo,” the children groaned.
“What happened,” the mother asked from the other room.
“The monkey’s gone,” the daughter answered.
“Already, where’d it go,” the mother wondered.
But they would never know, for he was the monkey, and he could go anywhere.
Sometimes, he would appear directly inside a bedroom in the middle of the night. He would quietly sit at the edge of the bed, watching people sleep and make strange noises with their mouths. He knew to stay quiet and not make a sound, otherwise, the people would wake up and panic by seeing a strange silhouette, rocking back and forth, with shiny teeth smiling in the dark.
The monkey knew how to stay quiet, by delicately rocking back and forth on his feet. After a few minutes, he would vanish with the sleeping families never knowing he was ever there. But he knew, because he was the monkey, and he could go anywhere.
News spread quickly as people were warned to watch out for a monkey who could go anywhere. Although he does not seem dangerous, take caution as it can appear anywhere at any time. Police phone lines would constantly ring as people would demand answers about this teleporting monkey.
The police did not believe the situation until the monkey appeared inside the station. He teleported directly on an officer’s desk, rocking back and forth on his feet, smiling while staring around the room. The police tried grabbing the monkey, but he was too fast, popping away to another desk, then the ceiling, before appearing in a prison cell.
A prisoner mocked the police and the monkey, using foul language and obscene gestures on how ridiculous everyone looked. The monkey stared outside the cell at the police as the prisoner mocked the monkey, calling him ugly and a demon.
The monkey turned to face the prisoner, popping away and teleported directly inside the inmate, bursting him open from the inside out. The police screamed, horrified as body parts and blood dropped from the ceiling.
The police ran toward the cell, but the monkey appeared on the chief’s desk, staring at the chief with a big smile. The chief nervously shook in his seat and waved his officers to back away from the door. The monkey smiled, before vanishing.
“Where did it go,” officers asked each other.
But they would never know, for he was the monkey, and he could go anywhere.
A monkey keeper came to the people, stating, “There is no need to fear anymore. I know exactly how to capture this devilish monkey!” He grabbed a net, some snacks, and several little instruments and ran to a beautiful garden with several trees close by.
“Hey monkey!” The keeper shouted. “If you can go anywhere, can you go here,” pointing to a space next to him.
As the keeper finished speaking, the monkey appeared and landed directly where the keeper was pointing. The keeper sprang the trap, capturing the monkey in the net. The keeper leaned down, facing the monkey, and said, “Oh monkey, if you could go anywhere, why don’t you come home?”
The monkey looked up at the keeper, smiled, and said, “I am the monkey, and I can go anywhere,” before vanishing out of the net.
